Assertiveness is a skill that can be learned. Being assertive means being able to stand up for your own or other people’s rights in a calm and positive way, without being aggressive. Assertiveness helps control stress and anger and improves coping skills. Being assertive allows you to express yourself effectively and stand up for your point of view, while also respecting the rights and beliefs of others.
